RAYSHAPE Takes Its 3D Printing Solutions Global

RAYSHAPE’s Vision: Spearheading Global Expansion and Innovation in Dental Additive Manufacturing

The additive manufacturing sector is undeniably experiencing vigorous growth, a trend that is becoming more pronounced with each passing year. This significant expansion was highlighted in this year’s Wohlers report, which demonstrated that the 3D printing market achieved even more substantial growth and maturation compared to the previous year. This trajectory is not merely a testament to technological advancements and intensive research and development; it also profoundly impacts companies operating within this dynamic industry. Among the firms experiencing remarkable growth and strategic expansion is the Asian manufacturer RAYSHAPE. Specializing in advanced resin 3D printing solutions tailored to meet the specific demands of diverse industries, RAYSHAPE has dedicated the past year to executing a robust internal strategy. This concerted effort aims to firmly establish the company as a leader in the competitive additive manufacturing landscape. To gain an exclusive, first-hand perspective on RAYSHAPE’s impressive journey, its strategic growth, and its ambitious strides towards the internationalization of its subsidiaries and entry into the European market, we had the privilege of speaking with its visionary founder, Zhen Liu.

3DN: Could you introduce yourself and elaborate on RAYSHAPE’s pivotal developments over the past year?

Certainly. My name is Zhen Liu, though many in the industry know me as Bill, and I am the proud founder of RAYSHAPE. Our company recently celebrated its three-year anniversary, having been established in 2019. This past year marked a crucial turning point for us; it truly became the genesis of our comprehensive international expansion strategy. We embarked on two particularly significant initiatives that have set the stage for our future trajectory. Firstly, we substantially expanded our dental product line, integrating two additional, highly innovative 3D printing solutions designed to cater to a broader spectrum of dental applications. Secondly, and equally important, we successfully established fully operational subsidiaries in both the United Kingdom and the United States. These strategic moves are instrumental in extending our global reach and solidifying our presence in key markets, bringing our cutting-edge additive manufacturing technology closer to our international clients and partners.

3DN: RAYSHAPE has recently experienced significant international growth, particularly with your expansion into the European market. How are you navigating and managing this complex expansion?

Navigating international expansion, especially during the current global climate, has indeed presented its unique set of challenges, and we were fully aware that it would be a demanding endeavor. However, our core strategy revolved around maintaining proactive and consistent communication and interaction with our local users and partners. This hands-on approach allows us to gain a profound understanding of their specific requirements and challenges, enabling us to provide precisely tailored and effective additive manufacturing solutions. To ensure sustained growth and market penetration, our meticulous selection of team members and strategic partners has been paramount. A prime example is Serge Gavrilov, the General Manager of our London subsidiary. Serge brings over five years of invaluable experience in the field of Digital Dentistry, coupled with an intimate knowledge of the nuanced needs of dental laboratories and practices. Under his leadership, and with the dedication of our entire team in London, we are exceptionally pleased with the responsiveness and the high-quality support we are currently delivering to our expanding client base across the European market. This localized, expert-driven approach is proving to be a cornerstone of our success in this vital region.

3DN: What key objectives and ambitious goals has RAYSHAPE set for the upcoming months?

Our strategic roadmap for 2023 is focused on establishing a truly global distribution channel system that will span key markets worldwide. This ambitious endeavor is currently in full swing, and we are actively engaged in identifying and forging partnerships with organizations and individuals who possess a deep, innate understanding of dentistry, combined with expert proficiency in advanced 3D printing technologies. Our vision is to collaborate closely with these partners, fostering an environment of mutual innovation to collectively push the boundaries of what’s possible in digital dentistry. We hold a strong conviction that our comprehensive suite of dental additive manufacturing solutions has the potential to deliver immense value to the global dental market, revolutionizing practices and improving patient outcomes. By carefully selecting partners who share our commitment to excellence and innovation, we aim to ensure that RAYSHAPE’s cutting-edge technologies are accessible and effectively utilized across continents, further cementing our role as a leader in this specialized field.

3DN: With RAYSHAPE’s strong footprint in the digital dentistry sector, how do you envision the future of 3D printing within this specific field?

Having evolved significantly over nearly a decade, 3D printing technology has unequivocally demonstrated its profound value and transformative potential within the field of dentistry. From intricate aesthetic diagnosis and treatment projects, such as the creation of invisible orthodontics, to highly precise restoration projects, including the fabrication of custom implant guides, temporary crowns, and removable dentures, additive manufacturing has become an indispensable tool. The overarching trend of dental digitization continues its deep penetration into established markets like Europe and North America, yet it is crucial to recognize that this trend is still far from reaching its ultimate peak. Moreover, vast and untapped market opportunities remain in numerous other parts of the world, signaling substantial future growth. As 3D printing technology undergoes continuous iteration, leading to enhanced precision, speed, and material versatility, and as new, innovative business models emerge, this technology will undoubtedly become even more prominent and absolutely essential for both modern dental practices and state-of-the-art dental laboratories worldwide. Its ability to enable greater customization, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ultimately enhance patient care ensures its enduring and expanding role in the future of dentistry.

3DN: Could you offer us a glimpse into the exciting projects RAYSHAPE is currently working on?

Following the successful launch of the Edge E1, our advanced LCD Dental 3D printer that became available in the European market this month, we are intensely focused on several key development areas. A significant project involves a comprehensive upgrade of our post-processing products and supporting tools. The objective here is twofold: to drastically increase post-processing efficiency for dental professionals and to significantly improve the overall working environment by streamlining workflows and reducing manual intervention. We understand that effective post-processing is as crucial as the printing itself for final product quality and user experience. Concurrently, we are also diligently working on strategically expanding our LCD 3D printer product line. This expansion is designed to introduce new models and capabilities that will precisely meet the diverse and evolving needs of various applications beyond dentistry, allowing RAYSHAPE to serve an even broader range of industries with our proven, high-performance additive manufacturing solutions. These projects underscore our commitment to continuous innovation and delivering comprehensive solutions to the market.
