According to Kai Narita, the visionary founder and CEO of 3D Architech, the core strength of their groundbreaking technology lies in its unparalleled ability to produce micron-scale features, achieving dimensions as small as 10 microns, through advanced microarchitecture design. Furthermore, the technology delivers significant cost reductions and boasts high throughput capabilities, making it an economically viable solution for a wide range of applications. This synergistic combination facilitates a seamless transition from initial research and development to the creation of optimized designs tailored for specific applications, ultimately leading to the mass production of customized, high-performance parts. The process also showcases exceptional material versatility, rendering it suitable for an extensive array of materials and applications. Currently, 3D Architech is strategically focusing its efforts on the rapidly growing cooling, energy, and manufacturing sectors, where its technology can have a significant impact.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the participating startups who showcased their remarkable innovations in this year’s challenge. We also want to give special recognition to our outstanding runner-ups, who demonstrated exceptional creativity and technical prowess. First among these is AM3L, an innovative French metal additive manufacturing startup dedicated to the production of structures with customized, controlled, and verified architectures. AM3L places a strong emphasis on precise control over porosity rather than density, opening up new possibilities for advanced material design. Our second runner-up is also based in France: Signature & Authentification des Matériaux (S.A.M). This forward-thinking company is actively addressing the critical issues of counterfeiting and data protection through the innovative use of 3D printed authentication “tokens,” providing a secure and reliable method for verifying the authenticity of products and data.
