During the last week of October, INDUSTRY From Needs To Solutions celebrated its 4th edition in Barcelona. In this new edition of the fair, various AM actors and speakers spoke about the evolution of additive manufacturing in the last few years, notably through IN(3D)TALKS. Fifteen sessions were held on five industry-related sectors: automotive, aeronautics, industry, health (with its Helthio day) and the retail sector.
Within the aeronautics panel, Manuel Aliprandi, Materials and Process Engineer at Ruag Aerospace, revealed the details of the first 3D printed piece that will travel to the Moon, a landing gear of the SpaceIL mission. On the same panel, we saw Paolo Calza, Design and Technology Director of Avio Aero, the division of General Electric that specializes in the manufacture of aircraft engine components using AM technology. As for the automotive industry, David Magnusson, head of the additive manufacturing division at Volvo Trucks, shared the benefits of prototyping for the Swedish brand.
