A useful event is one where you can touch a process you might buy, or sit still long enough to hear a limit the brochure skipped. The rest is a walk. 3D Catia does not sell tickets and does not keep a private guest list.

How to spend the time

Pick one process before you go, such as powder-bed nylon or a resin wash station, and ask every booth the same three questions: what is in the price, what fails in a small room, and which spare part you will reorder first. Write the answers down. A show without notes is a long day.

November · Frankfurt

Formnext

The large additive show in Frankfurt returns each November. Go for a process you can compare across booths, not for every keynote. Book the conversation you care about before you arrive, and leave room to look at parts rather than screens.

Any month · A local shop

Maker days and open benches

A Saturday open bench teaches more about smell, noise, and failed first layers than a distant expo. Bring a file you actually need, ask before you touch a machine, and treat other people materials as off limits.

An hour · A screen

Webinars with a part on the table

A webinar is worth the block on the calendar when the speaker shows a real defect and the setting that changed it. Skip the hour if the page is only a product tour. Take one note you can test the next morning.
