Top 1: Open Heritage, discovering in 3D
Using Google’s tools, Open Heritage is a project launched by Google Arts and Culture that aims to make art and culture accessible to all, whether in a museum or research context. In the following video, a temple from Thailand was 3D scanned to then be printed in one go on a Stratasys J750 3D printer, in full-colour. 3D printing technologies offer a real potential to bring back to life old artefacts, make them in different scales, fabricate multiple to have around the world, etc. The possibilities are endless!
Top 2: A 3D printed concrete bridge
Do you remember the 3D printed bridge for Dutch cyclists? It was created in 2017 by the BAM group, this bridge is 8 metres long and 3.5 metres wide and had been designed with 800 successive layers of concrete. The video below shows us a little bit about the manufacturing process of this bridge as well as how 3D technologies can nowadays shake up the construction sector as we know it today!
