TOP 1: 3DEXPERIENCE, the business experience platform
3DEXPERIENCE, launched by Dassault Systèmes is a marketplace dedicated to providing a business platform for design & manufacturing, manufacturing & production, simulation, governance & lifecycle, 3D design experience for professionals as well as a broad catalog of services. In the following video, they present one of their partners, Sculpteo. The company is a web-based 3D printing factory as well a software developer. Traditionally, 3D printing has been thought of as a rapid prototyping technology. Companies like Sculpteo provide the technology and expertise to respond to your prototyping needs or even production needs.
TOP 2: Raytheon builds prosthetic hand
Raytheon is a technology and innovation company – they used the Immersive Design Centre to enable the creation of a prosthetic hand prototype for a young boy. Raytheon volunteer engineers and high-school students teamed up to design a new terminal device for a young boy’s prosthetic. Their partners in Texas Scottish Rite hospital oversaw the final design and fitting. This is one of the initiatives taken by Raytheon to promote STEM learning.
