A house made of plastic? We’ll admit, it’s a rather surprising concept, especially at a time when society is trying to reduce plastic consumption. But in this case, the material being used is recycled plastic. So what exactly is this new project led by the Australian company Hyperion Systems?
According to the company, it would be the first 3D-printed plastic house in the Southern Hemisphere. Hyperion Systems uses robotic additive manufacturing to produce parts for a variety of industries. With this project, the company is entering the construction sector through a partnership with Little Castles Small Homes.

The studio will feature a bathroom and an open-plan living area with a kitchen.
Hyperion Systems is behind the design of these new small homes. According to the company, the structure can be 3D-printed in just 48 hours using recycled plastic. It is then shipped to Little Castles Small Homes, where the windows and doors are installed and the house is fully completed.
