Anycubic Unveils Cutting-Edge 3D Printing Solutions at Formnext 2025: A Deep Dive
Formnext remains the premier global stage for additive manufacturing, a perfect venue for exhibitors to showcase groundbreaking products. This year, machine manufacturers, including Anycubic, a prominent Chinese company specializing in resin 3D printing for over a decade, seized the opportunity to unveil their latest innovations. While recognized for affordable desktop solutions, Anycubic is increasingly targeting professional consumers, a strategic shift evident in their new offerings at Formnext 2025. We had the privilege of speaking with Anycubic’s CTO, James Ouyang, gaining valuable insights into their innovative solutions and the company’s remarkable journey in the competitive 3D printing landscape.
Interview with James Ouyang, CTO of Anycubic
3DN: James, could you please introduce yourself and share your background, particularly how you discovered the world of 3D printing?
James Ouyang: Certainly. My name is James Ouyang, and I serve as the CTO of Anycubic. My academic background is in material engineering, which I pursued right after graduation. In 2015, I joined forces with childhood friends, marking the beginning of the Anycubic adventure. Initially, our focus was on consumer-grade 3D printers, specifically resin-based machines. For the past eight years, this has been our primary area of expertise.

Later, we expanded our horizons to include FDM 3D printers. This expansion was driven by market demand and feedback from our users. They sought solutions that offered increased speed, improved efficiency, the ability to handle complex geometries, and support for a wider range of materials. Consequently, we’re present at Formnext this year to showcase our new products that address these needs and contribute to the advancement of the industry.
3DN: Anycubic has established itself as a significant player in the 3D printing market. What factors have contributed to your success, and how have you adapted to the evolving market demands?
James Ouyang: I firmly believe that our success is rooted in our unwavering commitment to listening to the market and understanding our customers’ needs. While we may occasionally falter, the key lies in learning from our mistakes and implementing necessary changes. This approach has been invaluable. At Anycubic, we prioritize customer feedback and strive to deliver products that offer exceptional value. Our customers have expressed a desire for faster and quieter machines, and that’s precisely what we are focused on developing.
3DN: Could you elaborate on the new products that Anycubic is showcasing at Formnext 2025?
James Ouyang: Certainly. We are introducing two new solutions for FDM printing and one for resin printing. Let’s begin with the extrusion systems.
One of the most exciting products is the Kobra X. This entry-level 3D printer boasts multi-material and multi-color printing capabilities without requiring external solutions like filament boxes. It can handle up to four different materials concurrently, reducing waste and printing time. The magic lies within the printhead, which features a newly developed extrusion system with five gears. This innovative design enables rapid filament changes with minimal purging, further minimizing waste.
The second solution is the Kobra S1 Max. This is a larger, enclosed printer designed to handle engineering materials like PET, nylon, and ABS, thanks to its advanced heat management system. It delivers enhanced accuracy, improved quality, and a generous printing volume of 350 x 350 x 350 mm.

The Kobra S1 Max can be paired with our new ACE 2 Pro, the third product I’d like to discuss. The ACE 2 Pro is a filament box designed to facilitate multi-material and multi-color 3D printing. It maintains a temperature of up to 65°C to ensure optimal quality and protect engineering-grade materials. We’ve optimized the system for even faster and easier filament changes.
Finally, in the realm of resin printing, we are introducing the Photon P1. This LCD machine is designed for professional users and offers industrial precision and repeatability. We’ve enhanced the light source and motion system to deliver exceptional quality. The Photon P1 is compatible with engineering-grade resins with a viscosity of up to 8,000 cps, as well as elastic materials.

3DN: What applications is Anycubic showcasing at Formnext 2025?
James Ouyang: We have a diverse range of 3D printed pieces on display at our booth, including helmets, jewelry, and shoes, among others. Our machines cater to a wide spectrum of applications, and we believe this is just the beginning. Our resin solutions excel in producing parts with intricate details and high precision. With our FDM machines, we are demonstrating functional parts and the potential to combine hard and soft materials.

3DN: What are Anycubic’s future plans and projects?
James Ouyang: We will continue to prioritize our customers and actively gather feedback from the market. Our overarching goal is to provide products that are not only efficient and reliable but also accessible to a broad audience. We invite attendees to visit us at Formnext in Hall 12.1, F129 to explore our new products and applications firsthand. To learn more about our innovative 3D printing solutions, please click HERE.
