3DN: Could you introduce yourself and your role at Kings 3D?
My name is Sophia Jiang, and I serve as the Director of the Global Marketing Team at Kings 3D. Our team plays a pivotal role in driving the company’s international presence and growth. Our responsibilities are extensive, encompassing overseas marketing initiatives, strategic channel expansion, and the global sales and technical support for our advanced 3D printers and materials. Ultimately, our core mission is to ensure that Kings 3D consistently delivers top-tier 3D printing solutions that not only foster innovation but also precisely meet the dynamic and evolving requirements of customers across a multitude of industries worldwide. We are dedicated to building strong global partnerships and facilitating the adoption of additive manufacturing in new markets.
3DN: How did the company come about and what have been your biggest milestones so far?
Kings 3D’s journey into additive manufacturing officially began with its establishment in 2015, focusing on the production and sale of industrial SLA 3D printers. However, our roots in the 3D printing industry stretch back even further, to 2008, when the company initially operated as a prototyping service provider and a dedicated user of 3D printing technology. This early experience provided invaluable insights into user needs and the practical challenges of additive manufacturing, informing our subsequent ventures into hardware and material development.
Our global expansion commenced in 2016, a significant milestone marked by the export of our first batch of printers to Portugal, setting the stage for international growth. Just two years later, in 2018, we further solidified our manufacturing capabilities by constructing our self-owned factory, Jiangxi Kings. This facility was designed as a large-scale, standardized production base specifically for 3D printers. Concurrently, Kings 3D strategically ventured into the development and production of its own range of 3D printing materials, a move that allowed for greater control over quality and innovation. Today, our material division is a powerhouse, selling approximately 5,000 tons of high-quality resin annually, demonstrating our comprehensive approach to the additive manufacturing ecosystem.
The year 2022 proved to be a transformative period for Kings 3D. We successfully secured substantial investments from prestigious financial institutions, including Morgan Stanley and state-owned Guosen Capital, underscoring confidence in our growth trajectory. This strategic financial backing facilitated the acquisition of Laseradd and Eastwind, two crucial moves that significantly broadened our technology portfolio to include Selective Laser Melting (SLM) and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) 3D printers. This expansion into SLM technology specifically fortified Kings 3D’s capabilities in both plastic and metal additive manufacturing, enabling us to serve advanced industrial applications in sectors such as aerospace, medical device production, and direct mold manufacturing, among others.

Furthermore, the diversification into SLS technology not only enhanced our offerings in SLS equipment but also extended our material capabilities to include high-performance nylon powder. A key advantage of our nylon powder is its compatibility not only with Kings 3D printers but also with systems from other leading manufacturers like EOS and 3D Systems, providing greater flexibility to users. We have observed particularly strong growth and momentum in SLS powder sales, especially within the European market, throughout this past year.
Another significant achievement in 2022 was the development and launch of the Kings 2700Pro, China’s largest industrial SLA printer, boasting an impressive build volume of 2700 x 900 x 800mm. This groundbreaking machine further cemented our leading position in the large-format SLA market, enabling the production of exceptionally large, intricate resin parts for various industries. In the same year, we introduced large-format FGF 3D printers, which offer considerable advantages such as substantial build sizes, high printing speeds, and significantly lower material costs due to their use of pellets. These characteristics make FGF printers exceptionally suitable for demanding outdoor applications, including the creation of expansive sculptures, architectural models, and large-scale functional prototypes.
As of today, Kings 3D has successfully sold over 5,000 printers, encompassing our full range of SLA, SLM, FGF, and SLS technologies. Our global footprint extends across more than 45 countries, reaching diverse markets that include Germany, the UK, France, Portugal, Italy, Turkey, UAE, Japan, Korea, Australia, the USA, and Brazil, among many others. This extensive reach underscores our commitment to making advanced additive manufacturing accessible worldwide.
The global reach of Kings 3D can be seen through the countries and regions where its printers are currently sold.
